Who is responsible?
RambleBox is provided by Mark Kewley, trading as UK Web Host, as part of Tooltilities. For privacy requests, use our contact form and choose Privacy request.
Your notes and speech
English speech transcription runs on your iPhone using Apple’s speech technology. Optional clean-up uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework. RambleBox does not upload your speech or transcript to us, an AI API or a RambleBox server.
We do not operate an account system, advertising SDK or analytics SDK in the app. We do not sell your personal information.
Temporary audio
Audio is temporary input for transcription and recovery. It is deleted after the complete transcript has been durably saved, or when you delete the note. If processing is interrupted, the temporary file can remain so you can retry. Pending audio is excluded from backups and cannot be played or exported in the app.
Local storage, backups and sharing
Original transcripts, edits, cleaned versions, titles and theme preferences are stored in the app’s protected storage. Saved text may be included in your iPhone backups, depending on your Apple settings. RambleBox does not sync notes between devices.
You decide whether to copy, share or export text. Copies sent to other apps or saved elsewhere are subject to those services and are not removed when you delete the note in RambleBox. Deleting the app removes its local data. You can delete individual notes or all notes in Settings → Data & Privacy.
Apple services
Apple processes App Store purchases and provides purchase status to the app. We do not receive your payment-card details. Initial speech assets and Apple Intelligence preparation can require downloads. Apple’s services and any device backups are governed by your settings and Apple’s privacy information.
Website and support information
If you send a contact enquiry, we receive your name, email address, chosen topic and message. Please do not send private transcripts or other information we do not need. The website host and email provider process ordinary connection and security information, such as IP addresses and delivery logs, to provide and protect the service.
This website does not use advertising trackers or optional analytics. The contact page uses a necessary session cookie for form security, preserving validation state and limiting repeated requests. It is not used to track you across websites.
Why we use that information
We use correspondence to answer the request you made and resolve app or purchase issues. Depending on the request, the legal basis is performance of a contract, legitimate interests in providing support and securing the service, or compliance with a legal obligation. A contact form acknowledgement confirms that you have read this policy; it is not consent to marketing.
Optional website feedback
You may see an optional thumbs-up or thumbs-down question about RambleBox. If you vote, we add your answer to private totals. These totals contain no names, email addresses, IP addresses or individual response histories. Ordinary website connection logs still apply as described above. A necessary session cookie helps protect the vote and avoid counting a retry twice.
The Feedback tab stays available on the homepage and use-case pages. You can open it by hovering, clicking or tapping. The question can also open at 65% scroll, or when a desktop pointer leaves through the top of the page. Once opened, we use browser session storage to prevent another automatic opening during that tab session. Closing it returns it to the tab, which you can reopen whenever you like, including after voting. There is no seven-day or 180-day hiding period. You can continue browsing without voting.
Retention
Local notes remain until you remove them. We cannot access or erase them remotely. We normally retain genuine support correspondence for up to 12 months after the last substantive response, unless an ongoing matter or legal requirement needs a longer period. Obvious spam may be removed sooner. Host and mail security logs follow the providers’ operational retention settings.
Providers and international transfers
Our web hosting and SMTP email delivery use the same shared-hosting arrangement as our other UK Web Host products, with Stackmail SMTP for website correspondence. Apple provides App Store services. Providers may process information outside the UK; applicable contractual or other lawful safeguards are required where international transfer rules apply. Your in-app transcripts are not sent through the website contact service unless you choose to paste them into an enquiry.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of personal information we hold, and to receive a portable copy. Contact us to make a request. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Children, security and updates
RambleBox is a general productivity tool, not a service designed to collect children’s information. A parent or guardian should supervise a child’s use. Keep your device and passcode protected and export important text before deleting the app. No device or internet service can guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy as the app or service changes. The date above identifies the current version.
